Kayak Drogue: €50
Many anglers opt to use a drogue sometimes instead of an anchor - A drogue acts as a parachute in the water that slows down the drift of the kayak - We stock drogues by Kayak UK for the simple reason that they have a super drag/size ratio and so result in minimal kayak drift and yet pack up neatly taking up very little room on the kayak...

Some examples of kayak anchor set ups.....
A quick release system set up with cleat, floating rope and pick up buoy - once you release you can return at a later stage for the anchor when it's safe to do so.
Anchor system with chain that helps protect the line in rocky areas and increases grip in sand, the large pick up buoy helps to absorb a lot of the anchor pulls on the kayak.
To avoid anchor snags a simple cable tie system works well - simply pull hard on the line to snap the cabletie allowing the anchor to be retrieved easily with anchor prongs backwards
Some paddlers use a small length of bungee at the pulley to help reduce sharp pulls on the kayak in choppy conditions or when anchored in swell...
Close up of anchor line passing up through the running line ring on to the cleat for the quick release system set up.
Some paddlers like to use toggles to keep the anchor ring away from the pulleys to ensure free running of the line and avoid pulley damage.
